Giving Back is our organisation's way of making a difference to the world we live and work in.
It might be through a donation to a charity, giving our time to an organisation free of charge (such as our work with our local Church and our support of sailing events), baking for a cake sale or donating to our local food bank.
We continually look for opportunities to 'give back' - it's our way of saying thank you for all that's good in our lives.
The UN Sustainable Development Goals set out 17 key areas of focus and we want to do our bit towards driving those goals forward.
We will continue to support charities, with annual donations to CentrePoint, WaterAid, Toilet Twinning and through our LendWithCare programme. These donation streams are designed to provide support for those living in poverty, with hunger and who lack the basics such as clean water and sanitation. Our LendWithCare focus selects projects which promote good health and wellbeing, education and gender equality and through this initiative we hope to promote decent work which will in turn develop economic growth on a small scale. Many of the projects we invest in are small scale innovation, designed to improve life on land and to create sustainable communities. LendWithCare promotes our partnership approach.
We also support our local church, with regular donations of both time and money. The church is working hard to develop social links for our community and to provide support which promotes good health and wellbeing, reduces inequalities and provides a partnership approach with other local bodies. We provide regular donations to the food bank which the Church has established and which is providing a vital service to families in our area.
Over the coming year we will develop our SDG focus further to identify how we can support initiatives which support life below water, climate action and affordable and clean energy. Our move to using an electric vehicle for business transport kick starts that drive. We are proud to be a carbon neutral organisation.
We measure our carbon footprint and offset what we generate.
We are delighted to be a carbon neutral organisation and will continue to strive to drive down our impact on the environment.
